Veterans travel for free to Remembrance events with Wightlink

Veterans crossing the Solent as foot passengers to join Remembrance ceremonies will be able to travel for free with Wightlink. This will apply to journeys on November 9, 10 and 11 from Wightlink’s ports in Fishbourne and Yarmouth and from Ryde Pier Head.

Former members of the armed forces should make themselves known to port staff on arrival and show relevant ID.

“We are looking forward to welcoming veterans on board our ferries and FastCats to recognise their service,” says Wightlink’s Head of Customer Experience Sara Howden.
Tony Gear from Veterans Outreach Support adds: “Isle of Wight veterans crossing the Solent to take part in Remembrance events will appreciate Wightlink’s support. They always value the opportunity to attend these commemorations and meet up with old comrades.”
